Hello all, since I was in Riyadh for 3 days I had the chance to revisit AlZal Market and photograph the people, the shop, the auctions & some of the area around it, I already published more then one post from this market but never enough! Visit Day 38 and Day 54, I usually interact with people in my photowalk, but I decided I didn’t want to do much interaction which makes me shoot more candid moments.
وتصوير الناس والمحلات والحراج وبعض الاماكن حولها، قمت مسبقاً بنشر عدة تدوينات من نفس هذا السوق ولكن لا أستطيع الاكتفاء من هذا المكان! قم بزيارة يوم ٣٨ و يوم ٥٤، عادة أقوم بالتواصل مع الناس في جولات التصوير ولكن قررت في هذه الجولة أن أقلل من هذا التواصل حتى أستطيع التركيز أكثر على اللحظات العفوية.
My visit was first thing in the morning and it was early and still lots of the shops still closed
كانت زيارتي في أول الصباح وكان الوقت مبكراً لدرجة أن معظم المحلات كانت لاتزال مغلقة
One of places of AlThumairi market (located next to AlZal Market) which got abandoned mostly because the government are almost done with building a whole new market which has a traditional & culture appearance, sadly it was prohibited to enter or photograph there
أحد الأماكن التي من سوق الثميري (الذي يقع بجانب سوق الزل) والتي أصبح شبه مهجور بسبب بناء سوق جديد بطابع شعبي وهو على وشك الانتهاء، للأسف كان الدخول لذلك السوق والتصوير فيه ممنوع
In 2014 I was in the same spot and the word written in red was there and I’m surprised it’s still here
في عام ٢٠١٤ كنت في نفس المكان وكانت كلمة (بوفية) باللون الأحمر موجود وحقيقة متفاجئ أنها لا تزال موجودة حتى الان بدون تغيير
The clock tower that no one look at it for known the time simply because the cloak it’s self is very small in my opinion
برج الساعة والذي لا ينظر له أحد من أجل رؤية الساعة ورأي شخصي أرى السبب بكل بساطة أن الساعة نفسها صغيرة جداً
Just opened & waiting for customers inside the market, even while alone & waiting he still wears the mask
فتح المحل للتو وينتظر الزبائن داخل السوق، حتى وهو ينتظر وحيداً يلبس القناع
Drinking hot tea early morning before starting to sell the Miswak (Natural toothpick made directly from specific tree which is quit popular)
شرب الشاي في الصباح الباكر قبل البدء في العمل وبيع المسواك
Owner of one of the shops is turning on the electricity for his shop
المالك يقول بتشغيل الكهرباء من الصندوق الرئيسي لكي يقوم بفتح محله
In the evening from the same day I came back for another visit and focused on the this auction which is a weekly thing and at Friday is the most crowded
في المساء لنفس اليوم قمت بزيارة اخرى وركزت على هذا الحراج والذي يقام بشكل أسبوعي وعادة يوم الجمعة يكون الأكثر ازدحاماً

مشاهد مختلفة للناس بعضهم يريد شراء شيئاً ما والبعض الاخر يريد بيع ما لديه

Inside AlZal market with most of the shops are opened and the sellers are used to sit outside the shop waiting for customers
من داخل سوق الزل مع وجود معظم المحلات مفتوحة واعتاد الباعة على الجلوس خارج المحل بإنتظار الزبائن
