Hello all, so today’s blog is from the capital city Riyadh in AlZal Market (check Day 38 – Riyadh to view more about this market) that day happens to be First Friday of the month which they are used to have a big monthly auction specialized in heritage & traditional items, also usually this auction attracts interested people from outside the city & sometimes reaching all the way from Gulf countries.
مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم من العاصمة مدينة الرياض في سوق الزل (قم بزيارة اليوم ٣٨ – الرياض لرؤية المزيد من الصور لهذا السوق) ذلك اليوم صادف أول يوم جمعة من الشهر وهو اليوم الذي يقام به مزاد شهري كبير متخصص في الأدوات التراثية والتقليدية القديمة، وعادة هذا المزاد يجذب الكثير من الناس من خارج الرياض وأحياناً يصل إلى دول الخليج.

البائعون ينتظرون أي زبون محتمل لهم من بين الزحام
Abu Fahad is one of the people leading this auction area and a well known person all over the market
أبوفهد أحد الاشخاص الذين يقودون ساحة المزاد هذه وشخص معروف في جميع أرجاء السوق
More responsible people siting inside the auction area & waiting to begin the auction
اشخاص مسؤولين يجلسون داخل مساحة المزاد بإنتظار ساعة البدء
Just simple sellers & simple people interacting with each other, before buying anything costumers always check the item & discuss it with the seller
مجرد بائعون بسيطون مع أشخاص بسيطون يتفاعلون مع بعضهم البعض، قبل أي عملية الشراء الزبون عادة يقوم بفحص ما يريد شراءه وأحياناً ينتاقش مع البائع عنه
Some of the attending people mostly observe until something bring their attention
بعض المرتادين للمزاد يقومون بالمشاهدة فقط حتى يجذب شيئاً ما لهم
Of course there are other auction areas in the market and this 2 shots from another one
بالطبع هناك مساحات اخرى للمزاد في السوق وهذه الصورتين من مساحة مزاد تختلف عن الاولى
I’ve been told that the man on the left has enough money to be here & buy what he wants, but he’s just careless about how he looks, still don’t know if that’s true or not!
قيل لي أن الرجل الموجود في يسار الصورة هو في الواقع شخص يستطيع أن يشتري أي شيء يريده في السوق ولكنه فقط مهمل شكله وملابسه، لا أعلم إن كان الأمر صحيحاً أم لا
Two men are chatting & drinking tea together at a small traditional cafe beside the auction area in the market
اثنين من الرجال يتبادلون الاحاديث ويشربون الشاي في قهوة شعبية بجانب ساحة المزاد في السوق
At the end of auction I chatted a bit with this old man who owns a shop in the market
في نهاية المزاد قمت بالحديث مع هذا الرجل قليلاً والذي يملك محلاً هنا في السوق
