Hello all, this post is from the Capital of Saudi Arabia Riyadh ! In this city different culture, different people and the most crowded city in the country ! literally I needed at least half an hour to get from one side to another side. Anyway I’ve met with one of my friend who is interested in street photography and led me to a famous traditional market in the south. I’ve gone there twice because the first time was at the evening and got there a little late before sunset ( The perfect time is before sunset at least 2 hours & half ) so I took only a few photos I will show it first and got to know the place better with my friend’s help, then in the next morning I’ve got up early and gone there by myself where I felt a lot comfortable and had a lot of time to photograph which led to an great collection of photos even a place beside the market too. So I hope you like my walk there !
مرحبا بكم جميعا، هذه التدوينة من عاصمة المملكة العربية السعودية، الرياض ! في هذه المدينة عادات مختلفة وثقافات مغايرة، أشخاص مختلفون وأيضاً لا ننسى أنها تحتوي على الكثافة السكانية الأعلى في الدولة ! حرفياً كنت أحتاج إلى نصف ساعة على الأقل لأنتقل من جهة إلى اخرى من المدينة. على كل حال إلتقيت بأحد الأصدقاء والذي لديه إهتمام في تصوير الشارع وحياة الناس وقد نصحني بالذهاب إلى أحد الأسواق الشعبية الشهيرة في جنوب الرياض ( سوق الزل والثميري ) ذهبت هناك مرتين وذلك بسبب أن اليوم الأول بالمساء وصلت قبل غروب الشمس بساعة تقريباً ( الوقت المثالي للتصوير في المساء قبل الغروب بساعتين ونصف على الأقل ) لذا إلتقطت صور قليلة جداً وسأعرضها هنا بالطبع وأيضاً كانت فرصة جيدة لأتعرف على السوق وممراته بمساعدة صديقي، وبعد ذلك في الصباح التالي نهضت مبكراً وإتجهت هناك مباشرة لوحدي وشعرت بأريحية كبيرة لمعرفتي بالمكان مسبقاً وهذا ما قادني إلى إلتقاط العديد من الصور الجيدة في هذا السوق وفي حي صغير يجاوره مباشرة. أتمنى أن تروق لكم هذه المجموعة !

At the day some hallways are without any open shops, so the remain without any lights only the sun light that comes from the entrance
في النهار بعض الممرات بدون محلات مفتوحة، لذلك تبقى مظلمة بلا اضاءة، فقط اضاءة الشمس

Even in the simplest markets, they have a sense of art for their shops
وحتى في الأسواق البسيطة كهذه لديهم الحس الفني للتسويق لمحلاتهم وبضائعهم

Alright this is the area that is directly beside this market, I was curious about it, but the time wasn’t on my side so I only captured this photo ( acutely there is a big space for car parking between the area and the market )
حسناً هذا هو الحي الذي كنت أتحدث عنه والذي يقع بجانب السوق مباشرة، كنت فضولياً عن ماهيته ولكن الوقت لم يسعفني لذلك إلتقطت هذه الصورة فقط ( يفصل هذا الحي والسوق مساحة كبيرة مخصصة لوقوف السيارات )

I saw that most of the shops didn’t open yet, so I decided to go to this old area which I talked about earlier, and you can see some of it are ruined and the big space between it and the market are used for car parking
رأيت أن معظم المحلات لم تفتح بعد، لذلك قررت أن أتجه إلى الحي القديم الذي تحدثت عنه مسبقاً، تستطيعون رؤية أن بعضه المنازل مهدمة وأيضاً المساحة التي تفصلها عن السوق وتستخدم كموقف للسيارات

Meet Majjed, a saudi man who lives right about here. He told me that this area is very old and used to have lots of saudi families here, but most of them moved out long time ago, now he fears the worst are coming cause this whole area is gonna be demolished soon. I asked why? He said ” for the new train “

Street Life in Saudi Arabia 
Aaaaahhhhh Dheera Market. Absolutely FANTASTIC place to shoot masha’ALLAH. The men were less comfortable with me taking their pictures but I managed 🙂 Did some of my best work there. Great seeing this place with different eyes. On another note, it is so sad that homes will be demolished for the sake of the new train, very very sad and I pray the people will some how be compensated. Eid Mubarak, Zuhair!
