Hello all, today I’m gonna share you from the 2nd largest city in Saudi Arabia which is Jeddah, I only posted 2 posts about it and only from one area (Day 33 – Old Jeddah and Day 34 – Old Jeddah). Because the city is huge it needed more exploring so I was in quick visit to city and took the opportunity and went to an old area called AlRewais area and there I walked around for 2 hours, the people their were nice & welcoming.

مرحبا جميعاً، اليوم سأقوم بمشاركتكم صور من ثاني أكبر مدينة في السعودية وهي مدينة جدة، قمت فقط بنشر تدوينتين فقط من هذه المدينة ومن حي واحد فقط (اليوم ٣٣ – جدة القديمة و اليوم ٣٤ – جدة القديمة). لأنه المدينة كبيرة كانت تحتاج إلى استكشاف أكثر لذا كنت في زيارة سريعة للمدينة وتوجهت إلى أحد الأحياء القديمة ويسمى حي الرويس وهناك تجولت قرابة الساعتين تقريباً، الناس هناك كانوا لطيفين ومرحبين.

Day 39 – Al-Hasa

Hello all, finally a new day from my project and this time it’s from AlHasa, Mubarraz from one of the oldest area that this city has. It was a smooth photo walk because I had the chance to scout the area before coming back to take street photos for my project. Anyway I don’t have much to say so enjoy the photos !

مرحبا بكم، يوم جديد لمشروعي أخيراً وهذه المرة من منطقة الأحساء مدينة المبرز من أحد الأحياء القديمة بها. لقد كانت جولة انسيابية اذا صح القول بسبب أنه كانت لدي الفرصة باستكشاف المكان سابقاً قبل أن آتي مجدداً  للتصوير. على كل حال ليس لدي الكثير لقوله غير أمنيتي أن تستمتعوا بالصور والجولة ! Day 37 – Madinah

Hello all, this is the last post for my trip that I took 4 months ago, but not that last for the blog for sure ! Again with Al-Madinah city I’ve had the chance to go to a more active and large area near Al-Haram called Al-Sieh with the help of a photographer friend, we’ve gone their after the noon directly so we can have lots of time to photograph. It was really another different face for Al-Madinah and this area is going to be demolished in the near future because it’s very close from Al-Harm from the west side. This post in an amazing way have 100% b/w photos ( didn’t plane for it, it just went to like this ) and have the most photos from any other post because if the stories and the places their were a lot and worth showing it here. I hope you feel the same thing as I went over and over in looking at these photos !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، هذه اخر تدوينة من رحلتي التي قمت بها إلى المنطقة الغربية قبل قرابة ٤ أشهر، وبالطبع ليست التدوينة الاخيرة للمدونة ! مرة اخرى في المدينة المنورة حظيت بالفرصة للذهاب لحي أكثر نشاط وحيوية وفي وقت حيوي بالقرب من الحرم الشريف ويدعى حي السيح، ذهبت هناك بمساعدة أحد الزملاء الفوتوغرافيين بعد صلاة العصر مباشرة لكي يتسنى لي التصوير بأريحية وبوقت طويل. هذه التدوينة بشكل مذهل أنتجت صورة أحادية بالكامل ( لم يكن من تخطيط مسبق وكانت ارتجالية فقط أثناء المعالجة والفرز ) وأيضاً تحتوي على أكبر عدد صور في أي تدوينة اخرى بسبب كمية القصص والحياة الموجودة هناك. أتمنى أن تشعروا بما أشعر به حين أرى هذه الصورة مراراً وتكراراً !

Day 33 – Old Jeddah

Hello all, today’s post is from Jeddah city or should I say Old Jeddah which is considered one of the most important historical area in Saudi Arabia. I’ve visited the public market with two photographer friends to capture the life and the buildings. I’ve gotta say that this is my first time ever visiting Old Jeddah and it was way different from the photos I’ve seen about it. Beside the crowded market which happen to be Thursday by the way, the buildings are just amazing ! they are old like 50 years at least and some of it are 6 floors high ! in the other hand the thing which I don’t see are the ruins of other buildings, some are just demolished from being unstable and others are just collapsed ! many others are closed and abounded. To be honest it was like a 2 hour walk between the market and the area itself  and I felt that I didn’t capture enough photos about it, so thats why I’ve decided then to return in the next day at early morning. To be clear this post is from Thursday evening and it will be like part one mostly it will contain people more then buildings, and in the next post will be from Friday morning which will be mostly about the buildings and the life for those who live there. Enjoy this one for now !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم ستكون من جدة أو بالأصح جدة القديمة والتي تعتبر أحد المناطق التاريخية المهمة في المملكة العربية السعودية. قمت بزيارة سوق البلد مع اثنين من الأصدقاء المصورين الذي تشرفت بمقابلتهم هناك. علي القول بأن هذه هي الزيارة الأولى لي لجدة البلد والزيارة الأولى لجدة نفسها من ٢٠ سنة، وهي تختلف عن الصور التي رأيتها عنها أقصد جدة البلد. اذا استثنينا زحمة السوق والذي صادف أنه يوم الخميس، المباني هناك مذهلة إلى حد كبير ! فهي قديمة حتى ٥٠ سنة وبعضها يحتوي على ٦ طوابق ! ولكن وبالتحديد الأمور التي لا أراها هناك مباني مهدومة بعضها يتم هدمه لأنها أصبحت غير مستقرة واخرى تهالكت وهدمت من ذاتها ! وأيضاً هناك الكثير من المباني المغلقة بإحكام ومهجورة. في الحقيقة كانت جولة ساعتين مشي بين السوق والمنطقة نفسها ولكني شعرت أنني غير راضي بالوقت والصور التي إلتقطتها وأردت العودة مرة اخرى، لذلك عدت من جديد في الصباح الباكر في اليوم التالي. لأكون واضحاً أكثر هذه التدوينة ستكون من يوم الخميس بالمساء وستحتوي على صور للأشخاص أكثر من المباني، أما التدوينة القادمة ستكون في يوم الجمعة صباحاً وستكون عن المباني وبعض الأشخاص الذي يعيشون هناك. استمتعوا بهذه التدوينة !

Day 31 – Makkah ( The Other Side )

Hello all and welcome to my blog, where I go out and capture the life I find in the streets in our country, a lot of you is misunderstanding what I’m really doing. I think the best way to say that I’m doing a documentary photography of some of the cities in Saudi Arabia along with capturing the life within it ! So I’m not focusing on documenting areas more then the life that my eye capture. Anyway today’s post is from the Holy city Makkah, and to be honest I didn’t capture not even a single photo for Al-Haram ( which has the Kaaba’ in it ) because of 2 reasons, first it’s illegal to do photography there & 2nd everybody saw it, know it and considered to be a well known matter to all muslims. So I went to what some call it the other side of Makkah, the side that nobody knows it’s exist or seen it, at least for a lot of people that don’t live in Makkah. Luckily I already know a photographer friend over there and thanks to him I was able to get to this area, it was a different world from any spot I saw anywhere and it was part of Makkah, well the other side of Makkah ! enough with me, I’ll let you see the photos for yourself !

مرحبا بالجميع وأهلا بكم في مدونتي، والتي أقوم هنا بتصوير الحياة التي أجدها في شوارع الدولة التي أعيش بها، كثيراً منكم يسيء فهم ما أفعله حقيقة. أعتقد أن أفضل طريقة لشرح ما أقوم به هو نوع ممزوج بين التصوير التوثيقي لبعض المدن في المملكة مع تصوير حياة الشارع بها ! لذلك أنا لا أركز في مشروعي على توثيق الأحياء والمدن أكثر من الحياة التي تلتقطها عيني في هذه الأماكن. على كل حال تدوينة اليوم هي من المدينة المقدسة مكة المكرمة ولكي أكون صريحاً معكم لم أقم بإلتقاط أي صورة للمسجد الحرام ! للأسباب معينة، الأول أن التصوير ممنوع في المسجد الحرام وقانوناً من الممكن الشخص يتضرر بسبب هذا المنع، السبب الثاني هو أن الجميع يعرف المسجد ورأه في عدة أماكن متفرقة ويعلم عنه بشكل جيد. لذلك قررت الذهاب لأماكن اخرى، البعض يطلق عليها الوجه الآخر من مكة، الوجه الذي لا يعلم عنه ولم يره أحد، على الأقل للذين يسكنون خارج منطقة مكة. من حسن حظي أني على معرفة  بأحد الأصدقاء الفوتوغرافيين من مكة وقد قام بإيصالي للمكان الذي أحتاج الوصول إليه، لقد كان عالماً آخر ومختلف من أي حي قمت بزيارته سابقاً ولقد كان جزءاً من مكة، أو لنقول جزءاً من الوجه الاخر من مكة ! على كل حال سأدعكم تشاهدون الصور بأنفسكم !

Day 30 – Taif

Hello all, Again with Taif city I wanted to visit one of the area that are away from the markets and public places, I visited this area called Alsharqyia. It was most to capture the houses the streets, I was lucky to be able to capture some of the people that lives there as well. The area have lots of old stairs in it’s alleys. We had some people that were annoyed by us photographing the place and claiming ( in a funny way ) that photography is not allowed what so ever by legal means, my friend was kind enough to handle them were I ignored them and continued photographing. Enjoy the photos !

مرحبا بكم، تدوينة اخرى من مدينة الطائف، رغبت كثيراً في زيارة أحد الأحياء السكنية البعيدة عن السوق والأماكن العامة لرؤية الحياة والناس والمباني فيها، وصلت إلى حي يطلق عليه حي الشرقية، من حسن حظي أني صادفت بعض السكان الذي يعيشون هناك وكان الأغلب لتوثيق المباني والشوارع بها، الحي كان يمتاز بوجود درج قديم نوعاً ما في الممرات الضيقة وبشكل متفرق حول الحي. صادفنا أيضاً بعض الناس الذين كانوا متضايقين ومنزعجين منا لأننا نقوم بالتصوير ويدعون ( بشكل مضحك ) أن التصوير ممنوع منعاً باتاً وهم يمنعوننا لأنهم يتبعون القانون والنظام، صديقي قام بالتحدث معهم فيما أنا تجاهلتهم تماماً وأكملت التصوير. أستمتعوا بالصور !

Day 29 – Taif

Hello all, I’m back a little bit late but with a hole new city to show you some of the life within it, and this city is Taif, located in the west region of Saudi Arabia near Makkah. This is the first post of many from my trip to the west region of Saudi Arabia when I visited 5 cities there, the first one was Taif. I went in the morning to the central market to capture the life and people over there and to document the place too, it was a whole new place from me, different buildings, different people and different scenes. Enough with me and enjoy this photo walk !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، عدت مجدداً وبشكل متأخر قليلاً ولكن مع مجموعة صور من مدينة جديدة لأريكم الحياة التي شاهدتها هناك، وهذه المدينة هي الطائف والتي تقع في المنطقة الغربية من المملكة العربية السعودية بالقرب من مدينة مكة المكرمة. هذه سوف تكون التدوينة الأولى من عدة تدوينات قادمة من رحلتي للمنطقة الغربية والتي تضمنت زيارة ٥ مدن وكانت أولها الطائف. ذهبت بالصباح إلى المنطقة المركزية بالطائف أو ما يسمى ب سوق البلد لإلتقاط الحياة والناس وأيضاً لتوثيق المكان والمباني، لقد كان المكان جديد المشاهد بالنسبة لعدستي إلى حد كبير من أشخاص ومباني ومشاهد مختلفة. أترككم لتستمعوا بهذه الجولة !

Day 28 – Qatif

Hello all, sorry about getting late with the posts in the last 2 weeks. Anyway I’ve been to a small village part of Qatif called Um AlHamam to discover the old houses and small paths inside the area with my friend and I’ve been really amazed by what I’ve saw there, join me in this walk and see the photos for yourself !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، أعتذر لجميع المتابعين عن توقفي وتأخري في نشر التدوينات في الأسبوعين الماضيين. على كل حال ذهبت إلى قرية تدعى أم الحمام وهي جزء من محافظة القطيف لإكتشاف البيوت القديمة والممرات الضيقة بداخلها مع أحد الأصدقاء وعلي القول أنني ذهلت بما رأيت هناك، انضموا إلي في هذه الجولة وشاهدوا الصور بأنفسكم !

Day 27 – AlHasa

Hello all, This photo walk is from Al-Hasa in Jubail village, it has a large area for old allies and houses that are still a lot of the local people live there, I was surprised by the size of it and of course it has something special from the other villages that I visited, each path lead to several house and that’s it! it’s a dead end and you have to go back to choose another path to walk to, this is what I most encountered there. So enjoy the photo walk !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً، أولاً كان من المفترض أن أكتب لكم هذه المدونة قبل عدة أيام ولكن لإنشغالي في السفر لم أتمكن من إيجاد الوقت لها. على كل حال هذه التدوينة من الأحساء وبالتحديد قرية الجبيل، تحتوي على حواري ذو مساحة كبيرة الحجم نسبياً مقارنة بالقرى التي زرتها سابقاً ( جولتي كانت تقريبا ساعة ونصف وكنت أحتاج إلى نصف ساعة اخرى لكي أتمكن من زيارة جميع الأزقة بها ) تحتوي على الممرات الضيقة والبيوت القديمة، بالطبع كان هناك شيئاً مميزاً بها عن باقي القرى التي قمت بزيارتها وهو أن أغلب الأزقة والممرات عندما تمشي بإحداها تصل إلى عدة أبواب لعدة منازل وطريق مسدود ! ويجب هنا أن تعود لتغير مسارك وأيضاً تتفاجىء بنفس الحالة. على كل حال استمتعوا بهذه الجولة !

Day 26 – Qatif

Hello all. First of all I want to tell you that today I’m leaving on my first photography trip ( Hopefully not the last ) for my project which is the same title for the blog ( Street Life in Saudi Arabia ), all the post before were from the Eastern Region in Saudi Arabia, I wanted to expand my project more and to start off I’m going all the way to the west region in Saudi Arabia visiting Taif – Makkah – Jeddah – Yanbu – Madina . If you wish to follow me on Instagram to see daily photos of my trip that would make me happy http://instagram/zuhair373. Anyway in this post I’ve visited a side in Qatif that for myself was the first time, again with one of my friend. We saw a lot of interesting places and old houses, pretty provoked writings on the walls and most of all the life over there. Also I’ll change my routine a little in posting the photos with the caption, you will notice that a group of photos will be anded one caption because they are all connected. So enjoy the photo walk !

مرحبا بكم جميعاً. قبل الخوض في هذه التدوينة أريد القول بأنني اليوم مغادر في أول رحلة فوتوغرافية من أجل هذا المشروع، في التدوينات السابقة كانت جميعها من المنطقة الشرقية في المملكة العربية السعودية، أردت التوسع أكثر في هذا المشروع من حيث المدن والمناطق ولكي أبدأ ذلك أخترت الذهاب غرب المملكة لزيارة هذه المدن الطائف – مكة – جدة – ينبع – المدينة، إذا أردتم متابعتي على الإنستغرام لمشاهدة صور يومية لرحلتي سيسعدني ذلك كثيراً . على كل حال في هذه التدوينة ذهبت إلى القطيف في جهة أزورها للمرة الأولى وبالطبع معي أحد الأصدقاء. رأيت هناك الكثير من الأماكن المثيرة للإهتمام، البيوت القديمة، بعض الكتابات المستفزة على الجدران وبالطبع الحياة كانت ممتلئة بذلك المكان. أيضاً سوف يكون هناك تغيير بسيط في طريقة عرض الصور مع التعليق المخصص لها، سوف تلاحظون وجود مجموعة من الصور تحت تعليق واحد بسبب أنها كلها مترابطة مع بعضها البعض. لذلك استمتعوا بهذه الجولة !
