Day 81 Dammam – Birds Market

Today’s post is from the birds market in Dammam which is a weekly market that takes place every Friday, I previously visited and posted about this market in this project (Day 53 – Dammam) the market starts before sunrise early morning and gets really crowded after a few hours and continues until noon, the market uses a car park space for the main birds seller, beside that space there are narrow streets which sellers use them to sell different kind of stuff (almost anything). Because of COVID19 everything stopped for months and people of the market are relieved that it starting to get back slow and of course carefully.

تدوينة اليوم من سوق الطيور في الدمام وهو سوق أسبوعي يقام كل يوم جمعة، قمت سابقاً بتصوير ونشر عن هذا السوق في المشروع (اليوم ٥٣ – الدمام) السوق يبدأ قبل شروق الشمس في الصباح الباكر ويصبح أكثر إزدحاماً بعد ساعات قليلة ويستمر حتى وقت صلاة الجمعة، السوق يستخدم مساحة مواقف سيارات للجزء الرئيسي من السوق والمخصص غالباً للطيور وبجانبه ممرات الشوارع الضيقة والتي يستخدمها البائعون في بيع مختلف الأشياء. بسبب جائحة الكورونا كل شيء توقف لشهور والان أصحاب السوق سعيدين بعودته ببطء وبالطبع بحذر.

Hello all, finally after curfew from COVID19 is over and the weather is starting to cool off I’ve started to get back into street photography and for the Street Life in Saudi Arabia Project so I had the chance to visit the capital city Riyadh to visit a new market which is the bird & pet weekly market in Friday which is usually start after Asr preyer located South of Riyadh, it was interesting to see more animals aside from always seeing birds (mostly pigeons) they were lots of kind of dogs & cats, also some baby monkeys.

مرحبا جميعاً، أخيراً بعد انتهاء الحظر بسبب جائحة الكورونا والأجواء أصبحت أقل حرارة بدأت بالعودة لتصوير حياة الشارع وللتصوير لمشروع حياة الشارع في السعودية لذا كانت لدي الفرصة للذهاب للرياض لزيارة سوق جديد وهو سوق الطيور والحيوانات الأليفة الأسبوعي في يوم الجمعة والذي يبدأ عادة من بعد صلاة العصر وموقعه في أقصى جنوب الرياض، كان الأمر مثيراً للاهتمام بالنسبة لي رؤية الحيوانات الأليفة أكثر من الطيور (معظمها طيور الحمام) كان هناك الكثير من الأنواع من الكلاب والقطط وكان أيضاً هناك بعض القردة الصغيرة.

Day 66 – Makkah (The Other Side)

Hello all, today’s post is gonna be from Makkah city west of Saudi Arabia, but first you can visit my previous posts from the same city Makkah Day 31 & Makkah Day 32 . 2nd I want to clear out title why I added (the other side) mainly because people when they visit Makkah (for Umrah or Hajj) & they want to photograph they either shoot the Holy Mosque, the clock tower or the people around it, in the other hand rarely anyone visits the old areas around the Holy Mosque, I myself visited the city 3 times and each time I went to an area away from the Holy Mosque to capture & reveal the other side of the city. Now that’s all clear, the area I visited this time is located west of the Holy Mosque and it’s called AlHindawiyyah, like other areas this one is on a small mountain filled with red brick looking houses, sadly I only walked around in small area because the time was really short but came up with good results.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم ستكون من مدينة مكة المكرمة الواقعة غرب المملكة، لكن أولاً بإمكانكم زيارة التدوينات الماضية من نفس المدينة اليوم ٣١ مكة المكرمة و اليوم ٣٢ مكة المكرمة . ثانياً أريد أن أوضح العنوان ولما وضعت العبارة (الجهة الاخرى) السبب الرئيسي بأن معظم الناس عندما يقومون بزيارة مكة المكرمة (طبعاً للعمرة أو الحج) ويريدون التصوير فإنهم يركزون على تصوير المسجد الحرام أو برج الساعة أو الناس من حولها، في الجهة المقابلة هناك عدد نادر ممن يريدون زيارة الأحياء القديمة حول المسجد الحرام. عن نفسي أن قمت بزيارة المدينة ٣ مرات وفي كل مرة ذهبت إلى حي قديم بعيداً عن الحرم لإلتقاط واظهار الجهة الاخرى من المدينة. الان بعد أن أوضحت كل هذا سأتحدث عن المنطقة التي قمت بزيارتها هذه المرة وتقع غرب المسجد الحرام وتسمى بالهنداوية، كمثل أغلب الأحياء القديمة تقع على جبل صغير وممتلئة بالبيوت ذات الطابوق الأحمر، للأسف تجولت فقط في مساحة بسيطة من الحي بسبب أن الوقت كان ضيق ولكنني خرجت بنتائج مقبولة.

Hello all, today’s post is from another small city in Qassim Region which is AlBukariyah city, naturally I went downtown for the market but it was so small it was only on 1 street & that’s it, I already arrived a bit late about 1 hour before sunset so while walking I noticed an old area with lots of old traditional houses which some are still used so I decided to focus on this side while I have time, the weather was cloudy all the time since it’s December which wasn’t good at that time. This photowalk was part of my trip to Qassim Region in December 2015.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم من أيضاً مدينة صغيرة اخرى في منطقة القصيم وهي مدينة البكيرية، توجهت إلى وسط المدينة من أجل الوصول إلى السوق ولكن تفاجأت أن مساحة السوق صغيرة جداً ولا تتعدى الشارع الواحد فقط، وصلت متأخراً بعض الشيء تقريباً قبل ساعة واحدة من الغروب لذا أثناء ذهابي إلى السوق لاحظت أحد الأحياء يحتوي على كمية كبيرة من البيوت الشعبية التقليدية المستخدم بعضها لذا قررت التركيز على هذا الجانب بينما لدي الوقت، الأجواء كانت مليئة بالسحب طوال الوقت بما أنه كان شهر ديسمبر وهذا الشيء لم يكن جيداً في ذلك الوقت. هذه الجولة كانت من ضمن رحلتي لمنطقة القصيم في ديسمبر ٢٠١٥.

Hello all, today’s post is from a small city in Qassim Region which is AlRass city, because it’s a small city there was only the local market downtown so my walk mainly from there, and it happens that it rained a little bit, this photowalk was part of my trip to Qassim Region in December 2015.

Hello all, today’s post is from AlTaraf village in AlHasa, the last time I post from AlTaraf village was about the weekly market, but this time is from the village itself. I walked around with 2 of my friends to keep me company, and it was really an interesting walk because I got many great shots.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم هي من قرية الطرف في الأحساء، المرة الأخيرة التي قمت بنشر تدوينة من نفس القرية كانت عن السوق الأسبوعي المقام بها ولكن هذه المرة ستكون عن القرية ذاتها، قمت بأخذ جولتي هناك مع اثنين الأصحاب وبالحقيقة الجولة كانت جداً مثيرة للإهتمام بسبب إلتقاطي العديد من الصور الرائعة.

Hello all, today’s post will be from Dammam city, I went to the old area “AlDwaser area” in Dammam which is one of 2 oldest area there, Day 05 – Dammam was from the same area so you can check it out first. Anyhow this visit was first of many visits later because the place & the people there are always making you come back for more moments to capture, I met some people & went to old places I visited in my first visit in 2013 and that’s why this is my favorite place to photograph.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم هي من مدينة الدمام، قمت بزيارة الحي القديم في الدمام “حي الدواسر” وهو أحد اثنين من الاحياء القديمة جداً هناك، تدوينة اليوم ٥ – الدمام كانت من نفس الحي لذا تستطيعون مشاهدتها أولاً. على كل حال هذه كانت الزيارة الاولى لعدة زيارات تمت لاحقاً بسبب أن المكان والناس هناك يجعلونك تعود من أجل المزيد من اللحظات التي تريد إلتقاطها، إلتقيت هناك ببعض الاشخاص وذهبت إلى أماكن قديمة قمت بزيارتها سابقاُ في عام ٢٠١٣ ولهذا السبب هذا الحي من الأماكن المفضلة لدي لتصويرها.

Hello all, today’s post is also from a weekly market which happens to be also in Firday’s, I went to the birds market in Dammam city which usually start before sunrise and gets really crowded after the sun come up specially in winter, the market uses a car park space for the main birds seller, beside that space there are narrow streets which sellers use them to sell different kind of stuff (almost anything). Oh forgot to say that the last time I posted anything from Dammam which is where I’m based in was Day 12 – Dammam in 2014!

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم هي أيضاً من أحد الأسواق الأسبوعية والتي أيضاً تصادف يوم الجمعة، ذهبت إلى سوق الطيور في مدينة الدمام والذي يبدأ عادة قبل شروق الشمس ويبدأ بالإزدحام عند طلوعها وخصوصاً في فصل الشتاء، السوق يستخدم مساحة مواقف للسيارات للباعة الطيور، وبقية السوق يتمد في الشوارع الضيقة المجاورة وهناك تجد مختلف أنواع الباعة (تقريباً قد تجد أي شيء). نسيت أن أقوم بأن المرة الأخيرة التي نشرت بها شيئاً من الدمام وهي المدينة التي أقيم بها كانت في تدوينة اليوم ١٢ – الدمام في عام ٢٠١٤!

Hello all, thank you Allah, I finished my photo book for my personal project “Street Life in Saudi Arabia” which is one of the results of this ongoing project.

The book contains photographs captured between 2013-2016 in more then 20 cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a collection of 168 photographs out of more then 3000 edited photos were selected for this book, it show cases a collection of faces, daily life, markets for different ages of men, women and children. Book specification: 20cm*25cm, 140 pages, 168 photographs, hardcover and premium paper lustre.

Day 43 – Buraydah Part 3

Back with the last part of Buraydah city in Qassim Region, in this photowalk I managed to arrive at an area called AlOjaibah area beside one of the markets which was full of stories, because it was morning there wasn’t many activities inside the alleys, but in the market near it there plenty enough I walked there for more then 2 hours exploring the area and capturing stories. I hope you enjoy this one too!

عودة مع الجزء الأخير من مدينة بريدة بمنطقة القصيم، في هذه الجولة وصلت إلى أحد الأحياء الكبيرة بجانب أحد الأسواق يسمى حي العجيبة والذي كان مليئاً بالقصص المختلفة وبسبب أن الفترة كانت بالصباح كان هناك نشاطاً قليلاً داخل الحي بعكس السوق الملاصق له، تجولت هناك لأكثر من ساعتين ألتقط تلك اللحظات والقصص، أتمنى أن تعجبكم هذه الجولة!
