Hello all, another blog post from AlKhonbar for my Saudi Street Life project, I went an area called AlKhobar AlShamalia which means the north of AlKhobar, the area is basically full of high storey residence buildings with shops on the streets & there are some known parts like King Khaled St. & AlSuwaikat St. , some of the buildings have unique old design and among the tall building there are a few houses with 70s, 80s & 90s design, but among the 3 visits that I made to area it’s not that crowded with people but tons of cars in every street & corner.

مرحبا بالجميع، تدوينة اخرى من مدينة الخبر لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي، ذهبت إلى منطقة تسمى بالخبر الشمالية وهي منطقة مليئة بالمباني السكنية المتعددة الأطباق مع وجود محلات تجارية على الشوارع وهناك بعض الأجزاء المعروف مثل شارع الملك خالد وشارع السويكت، بعض المباني تتميز بتصميم فريد وبين تلك المباني توجد بعض المنازل القديمة بتصاميم السبعينيات وحتى التسعينيات، من بين الزيارات الثلاثة التي قمت بها للمنطقة لاحظت أنها ليست بذلك الازدحام من ناحية الناس ولكنها تكتظ بالسيارات في كل شارع وزاوية.

Hello all, going back to west of Saudi for another post for my Saudi Street project and to be exact from Taif city, I published several posts from Taif and Day 69 – Taif was the last post I published for the project 2 years ago. Anyhow I stumbled upon an old area which considered one of the oldest in the city according to locals, the area is basically on mountain because the streets just go up and down almost everywhere which reminded me of Abha city, I wondered around for an hour & half shooting scenes & meeting people.

مرحبا بالجميع، عودة إلى المنطقة الغربية بالسعودية من أجل مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وبالتحديد مدينة الطائف، قمت بنشر العديد من التدوينات من الطائف وكان يوم ٦٩ – الطائف هي آخر تدوينة نشرتها للمشروع قبل سنتين. على كل حال وجدت نفسي مصادفة في أحد أقدم الأحياء على حد قول أحد ساكنيه ويسمى بـ حي بني سويلم، والحي يعتبر على جبل بسبب أن معظم شوارعه الداخلية ذات انحدار حاد والذي ذكرني كثيراً في أحياء مدينة أبها، أمضيت قرابة الساعة والنصف أقوم بالتصوير مشاهد عديدة والتقيت بعض من أهلها.

Hello all, back again with a new post for my Saudi Street project, this time visiting AlHasa again in a new area in located in AlMubarraz city called AlSayaseb, I was in luck for arriving there early because the the area was bigger then I expected, also gave me the chance to walk around before people starting to go out in their usual activities, the quietness of the place with nothing but my own footsteps to hear is quite interesting, and as for the people are just really nice & considering.

مرحبا بكم، مرة اخرى مع تدوينة جديدة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي، هذه المرة نزور الأحساء مرة اخرى في أحد الأحياء الموجودة في مدينة المبرز ويسمى حي السياسب، كنت محظوظاً للوصول هناك مبكراً بسبب أن الحي كان أكبر مما كنت أتوقعه، وأيضاً أعطاني فرصة للمشي قبل بدء خروج الناس لنشاطاتهم المعتادة، الهدوء في أزقة الحواري مع سماع صوت خطواتك فقط شيء مثير للاهتمام، ولا أنسى الناس الذين إلتقيت بهم هناك كانوا لطيفين ومقدرين ما أعمله.

Hello all, this will be the last post from Madinah from my trip in December 2020, I continued to visit another old area which is just west of AlSih area from the previous post and it’s called AlAnabis area, because it was Friday I was blessed to see lots of great moments & scenes from children & old men, also like always I focused a lot on Documenting the buildings & alleys.

مرحبا بالجميع، ستكون هذه اخر تدوينة من المدينة المنورة من رحلتي في ديسمبر ٢٠٢٠، تابعت طريقي إلى حي اخر قديم ويقع تماماً غرب حي السيح الذي عرضته بالتدوينة السابقة ويطلق عليه حي العنابس، ولأنه كان يصادف يوم الجمعة صادفت الكثير من اللحظات والمشاهد الجميلة سواء من أطفال الحي أو من كبار السن، وأيضاً كالمعتاد ركزت توثيقي على المباني والممرات القديمة.

Hello again, today I’m posting also from Madinah but it’s from the same area I visited back in 2014 and published a post about it which is As Sih Area (Day 37 – Madinah), my walk went really well and I recognized some of the spots I’ve seen before in my last visits, a lot of houses were demolished and that’s expected but there are still alleys that remains the same, most of the locals are foreign people from Mauritania who came years ago in the country.

مرحبا مرة اخرى، اليوم انشر لكم مدونة اخرى من المدينة المنورة أيضاً ولكنها من نفس الحي الذي قمت بزيارته سابقاً في ٢٠١٤ وهو حي السيح (تدوينة يوم ٣٧ – المدينة)، جولتي كانت جيدة جداً وتمكنت من معرفة بعض الزاويا التي رأيتها سابقاً، الكثير من البيت تعرضت للهدم وهذا شيء متوقع ولكن لا تزال هناك بعض الأزقة التي لا تزال باقية، معظم السكان المحليين هنا من الجنسية الموريتانية الذين قدموا إلى المملكة قبل سنوات طويلة.

Hello again, continue with Madinah posts this time it was in morning, I visited a traditional market (or was a traditional) south of the Prophet mosque and it’s called Chef’s Market which is one of the oldest markets in the city, indicating that it has lots of restaurants which in the morning the serve breakfast in Yamani style and in the evening they have fresh fish cooking, the market had got renovated back in 2019 so it will more attracted to tourists in traditional look (which I didn’t like in general) so I didn’t stay there for long & headed for the area around it which has more stories & scenes, hope you enjoy the photos.

مرحبا مرة اخرى، نكمل مع تدوينات المدينة المنورة وهذه المرة كانت في الصباح، قمت بزيارة سوق شعبي (أو كان شعبياً) جنوب الحرم النبوي ويسمى سوق الطباخة وهو من أقدم الأسواق بالمدينة، وكما هو الاسم يحتوي على الكثير من المطاعم الشعبية والتي تقدم في الصباح افطاراً شعبياً بالطرق اليمنية وفي المساء يتحول إلى أطباق متنوعة من طبخ السمك الطازج، السوق تم إعادة بناءه وتجديده بالكامل في عام ٢٠١٩ لكي يكون جذاباً اكثر للسياحة بشكل شعبياً (بشكل شخصي لم تعجبني النتيجة) لذا لم أبقى هناك كثيراً وتوجهت إلى الحي خلف السوق وهناك شاهدت العديد من القصص والمشاهد، اتمنى أن تعجبكم هذه المجموعة.

Day 86 Madinah – Residential Area

Hello and this is the first post for the project from Madinah since 2014 which I only published 2 posts from that year, so I’m gonna post about 4 new posts from my trip in December 2020 starting with this one, I went to AlMughaisilah area which is located south of Prophet Mohammad Mosque (Harm AlNabawi) since this area along with many are old the city municipality decided about a year ago to do major renovation for the houses & buildings (only from the outside) and some unlucky houses got demolished, so some of the scenes are full of those events but still it was good for me to visit this area which was a first time thank to my friend.

مرحبا، وهذه أول تدوينة للمشروع من المدنية المنورة من عام ٢٠١٤ حيث قمت بنشر تدوينتين من ذلك العام، لذلك سأقوم بنشر ٤ تدوينات من رحلتي في ديسمبر ٢٠٢٠ بدءً من هذه. قمت بزيارة حي المغيسلة الذي يقع جنوب المسجد النبوي الشريف ولأن هذه المنطقة والعديد غيرها قديمة قررت البلدية في وقت سابق قبل عام عمل ترميم وتجديد لمعظم البيوت والمباني هناك (شكل خارجي فقط) والبعض الاخر لم يكن الحظ حليفهم حيث تم ولا يزال يتم هدم بعض البيوت، لذا معظم المشاهد ستكون من هذين الأمرين ولكن تبقى جولة جيدة بالنسبة لي خصوصاً أنها زيارتي الأولى للحي والشكر يعود لصديقي.

Hello all, today I’m gonna publish photos from a city I visited once in 2014 which is Safwa city which is part from Qatif and posted Day 21 – Safwa it was a bit late re-visit but it’s all worth it, met a lot of people there and love how they reacted to camera, also the random alleys & streets never gets old for me.

مرحبا جميعاً، اليوم سأقوم بنشر صور من مدينة قمت بزيارتها في عام ٢٠١٤ وهي مدينة صفوى التابعة لمحافظة القطيف وقمت بنشر تدوينة اليوم ٢١ – صفوى كانت الزيارة متأخرة ولكنها تستحق تماماً، إلتقيت بكثير من الأشخاص هناك وكانوا سعيدين برؤية شخص حامل للكاميرا وتفاعلوا بشكل لطيف، أيضاً الممرات الضيقة والشوارع العشوائية أبداً تبقى منعشة لي.

Hello all, today’s post is from one of the famous places to photograph in Hofuf, AlHasa which is the area around AlQaisariyah Market in center of the city. I went there to photograph many times & for couple of goals, I went there for shooting for the project only about 2 times & this one is the third one, I love how the people mostly welcome photographers so thats why I never go there without getting good shots. I walked around the area & explored some new parts & re-visited other.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم من أشهر الأماكن للتصوير في مدينة الهفوف في محافظة الأحساء وهي المنطقة التي تقع حول سوق القصيرية الشهير في وسط المدينة. ذهبت إلى التصوير هناك عدة مرات ولعدة أهداف، كانت لي زيارتين من أجل التصوير للمشروع وهذه هي الزيارة الثالثة وهذا يعود إلى أن معظم الناس هناك مرحبون بالمصورين لذلك كل مرة أقوم بالزيارة دائما أخرج بنتائج جيدة. تجولت هناك في الحواري واستكشفت عدة أماكن لم أقم بزيارتها من قبل وقمت بإعادة زيارة المناطق أيضاً.

Day 60 – AlBukariyah

Hello all, today’s post is from another small city in Qassim Region which is AlBukariyah city, naturally I went downtown for the market but it was so small it was only on 1 street & that’s it, I already arrived a bit late about 1 hour before sunset so while walking I noticed an old area with lots of old traditional houses which some are still used so I decided to focus on this side while I have time, the weather was cloudy all the time since it’s December which wasn’t good at that time. This photowalk was part of my trip to Qassim Region in December 2015.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة اليوم من أيضاً مدينة صغيرة اخرى في منطقة القصيم وهي مدينة البكيرية، توجهت إلى وسط المدينة من أجل الوصول إلى السوق ولكن تفاجأت أن مساحة السوق صغيرة جداً ولا تتعدى الشارع الواحد فقط، وصلت متأخراً بعض الشيء تقريباً قبل ساعة واحدة من الغروب لذا أثناء ذهابي إلى السوق لاحظت أحد الأحياء يحتوي على كمية كبيرة من البيوت الشعبية التقليدية المستخدم بعضها لذا قررت التركيز على هذا الجانب بينما لدي الوقت، الأجواء كانت مليئة بالسحب طوال الوقت بما أنه كان شهر ديسمبر وهذا الشيء لم يكن جيداً في ذلك الوقت. هذه الجولة كانت من ضمن رحلتي لمنطقة القصيم في ديسمبر ٢٠١٥.
