Hello again, with the final city from my last trip for my Saudi Street Life project and this is a first time visit for me which Hafer AlBatin located in north of the Eastern Province, because I had so little time (less then a day) I only headed for the old market as they call it and walked around there for 2 hours along side the old area around it, most of the shop signs has just been re-designed to be united in an ugly way in my opinion but I photographed the place anyways, here are some of the results from that day.

مرحبا مرة اخرى مع اخر مدينة من رحلتي الأخيرة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وهذه الزيارة الأولى لهذه المدينة وهي مدينة حفر الباطن وتقع في شمال المنطقة الشرقية، كان لدي القليل من الوقت (أقل من يوم) لذلك توجهت إلى السوق القديم كما يطلق عليه وتجولت هناك حوالي ساعتين مع الحي القديم بجواره، معظم لوحات المحلات تم اعادة تصميمها بشكل موحد وسيء برأيي الشخصي ولكنني قمت بالتصوير على كل حال، هذه بعض النتائج من ذلك اليوم.

Day 109 Buraydah – AlJaradah Market

Hello all, today we take you back to Buraydah city in Qassim Region, which is a city I visited 3 years ago, because I had only one day for my visit I immediately headed for the central market also known as AlJardah market, and without any plans that day was Thursday so it was a bit crowded which was really good, I started photographing the people that are selling on the streets & there was a whole section which mostly had women selling different traditional home made goods, my highlight of this visit is seeing for the first time Locusta being sold which makes for some the people as delicious meal after it being cooked, I took break at noon then went back to the market to cover more area around it & photograph the scenes & people there.

مرحبا بالجميع، اليوم نعود مرة اخرى إلى مدينة بريدة بمنطقة القصيم وهي مدينة قمت بزيارتها قبل ٣ سنوات تقريباً، لأنه كان لدي يوم واحد فقط لهذه الزيارة توجهت مباشرة عند الوصول إلى وسط المدينة وتحديداً سوق يسمى سوق الجَرَدَة وبدون أي مخطط مسبق كان ذاك اليوم يصادف يوم الخميس وهو من الأيام الذي يكتظ به السوق من الباعة والناس وكان هذا من حسن حظي، بدأت بتصوير الناس والباعة على الشوارع وكان هناك قسم يغلبه في حضوره الباعة النساء ويقومون ببيع الكثير من المنتجات الشعبية المصنعة محلياً، ولكن أكثر ما كان ملفت لي في هذه الزيارة هو رؤية بيع الجراد لأول مرة والذي يمثل وجبة لذيذة لدى أهالي المنطقة بعد طبخها، مع وقت الظهيرة استغللت الوقت للراحة وقررت العودة مرة اخرى لما حول السوق لتصوير المشاهد والمحلات والناس.

Hello all, new post for my Saudi Street project & it’s also from AlHasa, I went to the weekly Sunday market in AlQarah village once before and published it in Day 56 – AlHasa so I had to make another visit to document the status of the market considering the the municipality has started building the new traditional look market for the village & it’s supposedly to be finish soon, it’s definitely a good attraction for the village, because I arrived the night before the market day I had the chance to visit it very early in the morning when vendors starting to set up their spaces & eat breakfast.

مرحبا جميعاً، تدوينة جديدة لأجل مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي وهي أيضاً من الأحساء، ذهبت إلى سوق الأحد الأسبوعي في قرية القارة مسبقاُ وقمت بنشر تدوينة عنها في اليوم ٥٦ – الأحساء لذا شعرت بأن علي القيام بزيارة اخرى لتوثيق الحالة الحالية للسوق خصوصاً أن الأمانة قررت أخيراً البدء بعملية بناء السوق الشعبي للقرية والذي بكل تأكيد سيكون له تأثير جذب للسياح للقرية، بسبب أنني وصلت الأحساء في الليلة السابقة ليوم السوق استطعت الوصول مبكراً جداً في الصباح لرؤية الباعة وهم يجهزون مساحاتهم الخاصة للبيع وأيضاً تناول وجبة الإفطار قبل وصول الزبائن.

Hello all, this will be the last blog post from Jazan for the Saudi Street Project for now, I visited the Monday market in Jazan Region which happened to be in Samtah, I arrived there in the early morning with lots of heat & humidity even though it’s October which made me not take too long in this photo walk, the market was really impressive containing lots of local merchandise & local vegetables along with a small bird market, even though the walk didn’t last long I end up catching great images.

مرحبا جميعاً، هذه ستكون اخر تدوينة من أجل مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي للوقت الحالي، قمت بزيارة سوق الإثنين الأسبوعي في منطقة جازان والذي يكون في محافظة صامطة، وصلت هناك مبكراً في الصباح كالعادة واستقبلتني الحرارة والرطوبة العالية على الرغم من أنه شهر اكتوبر وهو ما جعلني أقوم بهذه الجولة في وقت أقل من المعتاد، من ناحية اخرى السوق كان مبهراً ويحتوي على الكثير من البضائع المتنوعة محلياً ولا يخلوا من الخضار والفواكه المحلية بجانب قسم صغير لسوق الطيور، على الرغم من الجولة القصيرة نسبياً إلا أنني خرجت بكثير من الصور الرائعة.

Hello all, another post from Jazan for my Saudi Street project but this time it’s from the old area in Jazan city, back in 2016 I photographed near it which was Day 49 – Jazan and after getting back 7 years later I had to visit the area twice in order to photograph and document as much as I can, I met some interesting people there & seen a lot of really good scenes.

مرحبا بالجميع، تدوينة اخرى من جازان لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودية ولكن هذه المرة من الأحياء القديمة بمدينة جازان، في عام ٢٠١٦ قمت بزيارة وتصوير حي مجاور له وكان ذلك في يوم ٤٩ – جازان وبعد العودة بقرابة ٧ سنوات كان لابد لي من زيارة هذه الأحياء مرتين لكي أتمكن من التصوير والتوثيق بالقدر المستطاع، قابلت الكثير من الناس المثيرة للإهتمام وشاهدت العديد من المشاهد الجيدة.

Hello all, posting from Jazan Region for the first time in a while for the Saudi Street Project, I woke up early on Sunday and drove to Ahad AlMasarihah south of Abu Arish city to visit the weekly market, I was surprised to see a large area for the sheep & cows market which are away a few mins driving from main market, so I started photographing there because I rarely see hordes of cows in markets like this, I spent about hour & half there before driving the main market where I just took a quick half an hour walk but was very pleased with the results.

مرحبا بالجميع، عودة للنشر من منطقة جازان للمرة الأولى منذ فترة طويلة لأجل مشروع حياة الشارع السعودي، استيقظت مبكراً في يوم الأحد وتوجهت إلى محافظة أحد المسارحة الواقعة جنوب محافظة أبوعريش لزيارة السوق الشعبي الأسبوعي، تفاجأت بالمساحة الكبيرة التي كان يغطيها سوق الماشية وبشكل مختلف كان هناك قسم للأبقار بجانب الأغنام وهو ما لا أراه بشكل معتاد لذا بدأت تصوير من هنا وتجولت حوالي ساعة ونصف قبل الذهاب إلى السوق الرئيسي للبضائع والذي يبعد بضعة دقائق عن طريق السيارة واخذت جولة نصف ساعة فقط ولكنني كنت راضي عن النتائج.

Hello all, the 3rd & last post from AlQunfudhah district for my Saudi street project, I visited the Saturday weekly market which is consider the biggest in among all other weekly markets, it’s located in Sabt AlJarah 40 km away from AlQunfudhah city so I had to wake up again super early to drive to there, it was a bit crowded in the sheep market which is luckily didn’t moved away from the normal market like what happened to AlQouz weekly Market, also I found several women cooking the traditional breakfast meal which Bread & grilled fish.

مرحبا بكم جميعا، التدوينة الثالثة والأخيرة من محافظة القنفذة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي، قمت بزيارة سوق السبت الأسبوعي والذي يعتبر السوق الأكبر في المحافظة، يقع في سبت الجارة قرابة ٤٠ كم من مدينة القنفذة لذا بالطبع كان علي الاستيقاظ مبكراً جداً للوصول هناك، كان السوق مزدحماً أكثر عند سوق الماشية والذي من الجيد أنه لم يتغير موقعه مثل ما حصل في سوق القوز الأسبوعي، كذلك وجدت في هذا السوق بعض النساء يقومون بطبخ طبقة “شعبية” الصباحي وهو عبارة عن خبز المليفة مع السمك المشوي على الحطب.

Day 96 AlQunfudhah – Thursday Market

Hello all, this is the first ever post & photos from a complete new district which is called AlQunfudhah located in the far south of Makkah Region, I went out super early in the morning to visit the weekly Thursday market in AlQouz located 30 km from AlQundudhah city, like most of these open markets it has different merchandises but mostly it’s local, like making sesame food oil and lots of traditional home made candy in different flavors, while there is on the side women selling & making a breakfast dish for the costumers which is grilled fish with bread, because of the hot & humidity weather at that month I only photographed for about an hour & half.

مرحبا جميعاً، هذه أول تدوينة وصور على الإطلاق من محافظة جديدة كلياً وهي محافظة القنفذة التي تقع في أقصى جنوب منطقة مكة المكرمة، خرجت في ذلك اليوم مبكراً جداً في الصباح للتوجه لسوق الخميس الأسبوعي في القوز والتي تبعد قرابة ٣٠ كم من مدينة القنفذة، مثل معظم الأسواق الشعبية هناك التنوع من المنتجات التي تباع ولكن معظمها محلية مثل زيت السمسم التي يتم استخراجه محلياً وبعض المأكولات والحلويات المحلية بمختلف النكهات، وهناك على الجانب يوجد مجموعة من النساء يقومون بطبخ طبق إفطار معين لزبائن السوق وهو طبق مشهور ولذيذ بشكل محلي يسمى شعبية وهو عبارة عن سمك يطبخ في تنور حطب بجانب خبز المليفا الشعبي، بسبب أجواء الرطوبة في ذلك الشهر قمت بالتصوير في السوق قرابة الساعة والنصف.

Hello all, today I’m posting from jeddah for the Saudi Street Project, it’s not a new area other then the usual AlBalad historical area which is the oldest area in Jeddah and contains a lot of old fashioned high buildings plus AlBalad Market, I already photographed more then once but you never get enough, but before watching the upcoming photos you can visit the previous posts from then same area Day 33 – Old Jeddah & Day 34 – Old Jeddah.

مرحبا بالجميع، اليوم سأقوم بنشر تدوينة من مدينة جدة لمشروع حياة الشارع السعودي، التدوينة من منطقة جدة التاريخية وهي تعتبر من أقدم المناطق في المدينة وتحتوي على الكثير من المباني التاريخية الشاهقة بالإضافة إلى سوق البلد، قمت مسبقاً بتصوير هذه المنطقة عدة مرات ولكن لا يمكن أن تكتفي منها، قبل مشاهدة صور هذه التدوينة بإمكانك زيارة التدوينات السابقة من نفس المنطقة يوم ٣٣ – جدة القديمة و يوم ٣٤ – جدة القديمة.

Day 86 Madinah – Residential Area

Hello and this is the first post for the project from Madinah since 2014 which I only published 2 posts from that year, so I’m gonna post about 4 new posts from my trip in December 2020 starting with this one, I went to AlMughaisilah area which is located south of Prophet Mohammad Mosque (Harm AlNabawi) since this area along with many are old the city municipality decided about a year ago to do major renovation for the houses & buildings (only from the outside) and some unlucky houses got demolished, so some of the scenes are full of those events but still it was good for me to visit this area which was a first time thank to my friend.

مرحبا، وهذه أول تدوينة للمشروع من المدنية المنورة من عام ٢٠١٤ حيث قمت بنشر تدوينتين من ذلك العام، لذلك سأقوم بنشر ٤ تدوينات من رحلتي في ديسمبر ٢٠٢٠ بدءً من هذه. قمت بزيارة حي المغيسلة الذي يقع جنوب المسجد النبوي الشريف ولأن هذه المنطقة والعديد غيرها قديمة قررت البلدية في وقت سابق قبل عام عمل ترميم وتجديد لمعظم البيوت والمباني هناك (شكل خارجي فقط) والبعض الاخر لم يكن الحظ حليفهم حيث تم ولا يزال يتم هدم بعض البيوت، لذا معظم المشاهد ستكون من هذين الأمرين ولكن تبقى جولة جيدة بالنسبة لي خصوصاً أنها زيارتي الأولى للحي والشكر يعود لصديقي.
